A QUESTION FROM OTHERWISE · VOLUME I + II

What survives after the name disappears?

Names make ideas easier to transmit and easier to own. Remove the name and a useful distinction appears: what depended on the label, and what can still be performed by somebody who never learned where it came from?

Describe the useful move without its branded vocabulary. If you cannot, the label may be carrying more of the value than the operation.
