A QUESTION FROM OTHERWISE · VOLUME I + II
When does protection become control?
Protection acquires unusual power when the protected person cannot test whether the danger still exists. A safeguard can begin by preserving agency and end by making agency permanently unnecessary.
Ask what evidence would allow the protection to end. If no possible evidence can release the protected person, the safeguard may have become a jurisdiction.
